Because of  a few very busy members who missed this meeting - here is another chance for them! If you can make this next meeting briefly introduce each other. (I hope I didn’t miss anyone!)

EV PRO RECAP 3/26/09

Thanks, Brent Kossick, Legal Assistant with the Law Offices of Harold Campbell, for joining us every Thursday!  Guests:  Thank you all for your visit - I hope you will be back for your second visit!

Featured Speaker:  Lupe Dalluge - THE FLOWER SHOPPE  - 1825 E. Guadalupe, #101, (McClintock & Guadalupe), in Tempe, 480-831-1440

Lupe, a student, wife, and Mother of 2 darling boys (3 and 16) was borne in Mexico, moved here with her parents when she was 3.

First we learned how to make a corsage from beginning to end!  Thanks, Lupe, for letting us keep our own!

Then it was time to take a “test”!    How well do you know the Flower Shoppe?   If you need a refresher course - here is some important information about the shop:  It has been in business for 30+ years - owns 1 delivery vehicle - it’s located at the Southeast side of McClintock and Guadalupe Rds, normally it has 3 designers on staff, presently only 2 due to the slow economy - the color of the walls in the shop are green - you can’t buy “trees” there but most everything else - Lupe has been there for 13 years - she can expedite your order by pulling from your order history - the shop has a TLC , which is a phone reminder of special occasions - the operation hours are M-F 8-6 and Sat. 9-4 - deliveries can be made even on a Sunday if it is an emergency - there is a FRY’s store nearby - there is NO MINIMUM for delivery - in order to “wire-out” flowers, the min. price is $37.00 - you can find the Flower Shoppe online doing search engine or by going to www.flowershoppetempe.com - Lupe will not be able to do “casino nights” but pretty much everything else such as bar mitzvahs, weddings, funerals, corp. events, and quinceaneras - most cities around Phoenix never require a “wire-out” except for Glendale - and most orders just need 2-3 hours delivery notice!

Thanks, Lupe, well done - I love your “test” idea!  It certainly made my recap a lot easier and we all learned a lot about what you do so well!

Featured Speaker of the Week:  Diane Forshee,  Independent Insurance Agent, CSA, CLTC, Health, Medicare,  and Long Term Care Insurance, 480-782-1630, dianeforshee@cox.net

Diane is an Independent multi -line Broker and  has been in the business for 10 years.  She does consulting with individuals, families,  the self -employed, small businesses on the Health, Life, Disability, Long Term Care and Medicare Plans,

as well as retirement health insurance.

One of her specialties is putting together workshops and  educational events for businesses, churchs, organizations, and employers.  If you know of someone looking for a speaker Diane has lots of topics and can put a series of workshop together with other professionals.

There are the basic seven types of insurance most people should own:   Auto, Homeowners/Rental, Health, Life, Disability, Long Tem Care Insurance, and an Identity Theft plan,  and some may need Liability too.

How much life insurance should I buy? Depends on each persons’ assets, income,  and family situations are a few factors.  There is an easy way to calculate:   take your annual income multiply it by when you want to retire.  Rmember, this is your life’s earnings.

We forget to insure one of the most inportant things, our INCOME.  Take what you are making and look at your Social Security statement minus that amount.  This is a simple way to figue out how much disability insurance you would need.

Long Term Care Insurance is not insurance for the nursing- home it is for home care.  Let the insurance  pay for the professionals to do the dirty work and let your spouse -  be your spouse, children  - be your children, siblings -  be your siblings.  This is not for everyone, but look into it, let an agent educate you on this.

Diane recommends that you have your family love folder, love drawer, love box, somewhere where you keep your papers that when something happens to you -  for the love of your family -  you have it all together for them.

Thanks, Diane, for a very educational workshop right here at our weekly networking meeting!

Thanks, Gayle, for so graciously accepting to speak at  the last minute since our previously scheduled speaker, Brigitte Mueller, was unable to attend due an unusually heavy workload!

Gayle, a mother of 2 daughters, one stepson, and 3 grandchildren started her very own successful Mary Kay business after 4 years in the education field. Gayle’s specialty was tutoring children with learning disabilities.  During that time she had met one of her student’s Moms who inspired Gayle to look at Mary Kay!  She started the Mary Kay business 26 years ago only so she could have priorities of God first, her family second, and her business 3rd.  She earned her first FREE car in Dec. of 1987 and has received either car or cash compensation for 14 yrs.  She went for directorship soon after earning her 1st of 7 free cars in July 1988 by recruiting 29 of 30 women that became her first unit.

Gayle’s specialty is doing makeovers using Mary Kay cosmetics products, which has been #1 in Color cosmetics for the last 15 years. She wants everyone to be in her makeover portfolio by trying the products and having their photo taken by her very supportive husband Walt Colin.  A good lead is someone who wants to increase their income by starting this business either part-time or full. Also she can assist brides to guide them with their make-up and have a photo to show her look.

Mary Kay is a green company started in 1963 by Mary Kay Ash, and is planting 200,000 trees in the Bitterroots Forest this year- one tree for every pink or platinum compact donated by customers to be recycled.  Mary Kay Charitable Foundation is part of Mary Kay Inc. and uses donations to help with cancer research for women and contributes to many shelters and other organizations in the U.S. to help women and their children to fight against Domestic Violence.  Commercials promoting the opportunity to be a consultant in Mary Kay will be on various T.V. Channels in March thru May.  You are able to become a consultant in Mary Kay in March and April for only $100.00 and receive a $100.00 rebate in April by following certain guidelines.

Our Featured Speaker was:  Mark Mansfield, Clear Space, clearspaceorganizing@yahoo.com, 480-241-8119

Mark is a certified counselor and now has a full time position as a counselor.  He will try to make the meetings and still is open for business.
Mark loves helping people with clutter.  He knows his clients have a hard time to organize, for a variety of reasons.  He eliminates the negative aura by clapping his hands and gets the space circulating again with a more healthy atmosphere.
He gets into the reasons why this re-organization is important to the client.  Great technique, because the client will actually understand why he hired Mark in the first place and the results will be more positive with the client..
Each client represents a new challenge and Mark is always up for the new challenge.  He loves helping people de-clutter.
He sells a gift basket for $50.00 which includes Epsom Salts, Rose oil, aluminum wrap and some other goodies to rid the space of the negative.  He showed us how he Cleared the stagnant air with the rose oil.
His shortest job was 5 hours and the longest was 25 hours.
Thank you, Mark, for explaining and illustrating what you do so well!
Questions and answers by Keri, Shelley, Tim and Lou provided a great end to a wonderful presentation.

Our Featured Speaker was:

BettyAnn Ritter, Senior Business Banker with Wells Fargo, 480-324-2107, bettyann.ritter@wellsfargo.com

BettyAnn originally hails from New Jersey and has lived in AZ for 18 years.  She has been married for 28 years, has 2 children, both in college.

BettyAnn has been with WF for 18 years, 6 years with Business Banking.    As a Business Banker BettyAnn is your Consultant with the Bank.   She wants to remind us that “this is the Chinese Year of the OX.  With this in mind, an Ox is a very hard working animal.  Those people that work for another company will shine if they are very hard workers.  And those people who own their own businesses should be able to weather the turmoil with determination and hard work”.   BettyAnn hopes that the most important thing everyone got out of her presentation is “there will be a lot of opportunities that will come out of the changes that will be taking place.  Not all will be helpful to all of us, but there may be something you are looking to do and this could be your opportunity.  Read as much as you can so that you do not miss an opportunity.  Look for new changes in the SBA program that may help you get that new office bldg that some of us have been thinking about!  Call BettyAnn if you find something that you are interested in!  Get your annual check-up at the bank! ”

Thanks, BettyAnn, for all that good advice!

Announcements:  Meaghan Lewis, Lucky Devil Studios, is busy working on our EVPRO’s website.  Updating is almost complete.

Thank you, Meaghan , for all you do!

Featured Speaker:  Lisa Amato, Mortgage/Banking, Integrity 1st Mortgage, 8154 S. Priest Dr. Ste. 106A, Tempe, Az, 85284, 480-218-0245

John Bailey introduced Lisa making a joke that contrary to popular belief, her name is NOT Lori.

Lisa’s presentation was done “extemporaneous style”. Lisa had four boxes labeled Passion, Personal, Product and PR with information and /or props in each box. She asked various EVPRO members to select a box and then spoke to the topic and contents within the box that related to who Lisa is and how it relates to her life. Although none of us can be put “in a box” or separate the different parts of our life into boxes, it was a great visual to help illustrate the topics.

We are very fortunate that we have Lisa in our group.  She is a talented speaker and writer as well.   Lisa “helped” me with her recap that I am sending as an attachment so everyone  who was present last Thursday as well as those who missed the opportunity to hear Lisa speak will have a second chance.  Thanks, Lisa!

EV PRO RECAP 2/05/09

Thank you so very much for attending!

Leads/Referrals passed: 3

We also heard of  many wonderful “relationship building” testimonials which is what our group is all about!

Our speaker for this meeting: Harold E. Campbell, Attorney, Bankruptcy/Tax Problem Resolutions, 1811 S. Alma School Rd # 225, Mesa, Az 85210, 480-839-4828

Harold shared with us that he has been married for 31 years and has 3 children.   Listening to Harold speak was quite a treat - we don’t see Harold as often as we would like, but Brent ( Legal Assistant to the Campbell Bankruptcy Firm) attends weekly and we love having him.

Harold  typically analyses his client’s needs and utilizes an approach which is directed towards a fresh start for many. He explained his concern towards those who really want to keep their businesses but still want to pay-off their debts over time.    He briefly described the differences of various types of bankruptcies such as Chapter 7 , Chapter 11 , and 13 ,  and of course,  always depending on the type of situation being addressed.  He offers free consultation services to advise on the various options and his compassion for those caught in unfortunate circumstances came through as a main consideration.

What an outstanding meeting we had! The “BettyAnn Ritter” assignment was to meet with a pre-selected member of our networking group and introduce that person during our meeting. It went very well and we learned a lot about each other’s businesses. We probably will do this again! We had lots of fun and what a great opportunity for relationship building!

……and we are so sorry, Diane Forshee, CSA, CLTC, Health, Medicare, Long Term Care Insurance, that we ran out of time and missed out on your presentation - THIS TIME! Thanks for being able to re-schedule and for the chocolates!
